This week’s diversity chat is with Melissa McCoy, who trains California journalists in reporting on mental health. McCoy is a former deputy managing editor for the copy desks at the Los Angeles Times. She is now a consultant with TEAM Up (Tools for Entertainment and Media), a non-profit focused on media and mental health issues. MIJE currently is working with McCoy and TEAM Up and its parent, the Entertainment Industries Council, on fellowships for journalists to write about mental health issues among ethnic and underserved communities in California.
