Q.In this tight job market, are jobs available in broadcast and, if so, in what areas?
Jobs are always open in TV news. But keep in mind that most of them are not in front of the camera. Putting on a newscast requires an incredible staff of producers, assignment editors, writers, copy editors and bookers behind the scenes. So you must keep an open mind about what you want to do in journalism and research all of the positions the industry has to offer beyond anchor or on-air reporter. Remember, you can have a tremendous amount of impact as a producer.
