Gregg Birnbaum is a deputy managing editor. Gregg, 50, brings over 25 years of experience as a reporter and editor in the political arena. Before joining POLITICO in January 2011, Gregg served as the political editor of the New York Post, supervising the paper’s coverage of national, state and city politics, and prior to that he was a reporter for six years in both the Post’s Albany and City Hall bureaus. From 2005 to 2008, Gregg also created and managed JustHillary.com, a ground-breaking website devoted to coverage of Hillary’s Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign. He has worked as a political reporter for the Times-Herald Record in Middletown, N.Y, and the South Bend Tribune in South Bend, Ind., as a capitol correspondent based in Indianapolis. A Washington, D.C., native, Gregg is a graduate of Tufts University in Medford, Mass, and holds a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in Evanston, Ill. He divides his time between New York City and Washington, D.C.
