O. Ricardo Pimentel, 60, joined the San Antonio Express-News in May 2011. He sits on the newspaper’s editorial board, coordinates a Sunday commentary section and writes a weekly column on public policy.

He is formerly a columnist and editorial page editor at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He has been a managing editor, at the Stockton Record and Tucson Citizen, and an executive editor at the San Bernardino County Sun. He was a nationally syndicated columnist at the Arizona Republic. He has held various reporting or editing positions in San Bernardino, Fresno, San Diego and Sacramento and was a Washington D.C. correspondent for McClatchy Newspapers, covering Congress, the U.S. Supreme Court and federal agencies. He was a U.S. Navy journalist from 1973 to 1977, serving mostly on Guam, Hawaii and Antarctica.
